It looks like Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is trying to hoodwink the central leaders by showcasing Pattiseema project as the major part of the Polavaram project works to seek more funds.
On Tuesday, Union minister for surface transport and water resources Nitin Gadkari came to Vijayawada to lay foundation stone for the inland water transport schemes. He wanted to inspect the much-hyped Polavaram project to see as to what extent the works were completed, since Naidu was repeatedly pestering the Centre for more funds.
So, Naidu took Gadkari to Polavaram project area. However, without explaining much about the progress of works on the actual Polavaram dam, the chief minister sought to divert the attention of the Union minister by showcasing the Pattiseema project. He took him to the Pattiseema site on Polavaram right branch canal and explained him how he was taking water from Godavari to Krishna river to save the crops in Krishna delta area.
The chief minister went on explaining how Pattiseema on Godavari river would help additional water supply to Rayalaseema. Gadkar was impressed with the project works, without realising the fact that the actual Polavaram project works were going on at snail’s pace and Pattiseema would become redundant once Polavaram is completed. Till then, Naidu is trying to show Pattiseema as nothing but part of Polavaram works!
Even during the visit of Parliamentary Committee, too, Naidu played the same trick and the team members were all praise for Naidu for completing the Pattiseema project, ignoring the actual Polavaram project.

There is no limit for political speculations these days. Especially in the social media, there is absolutely no control over these speculations and make one wonder whether they are really true or just a rumour to ruin the careers of the leaders they don’t like.
